History

Based in Sydney, AMPA was established as the Australian International Conservatorium of Music in 1993 with the vision of developing a higher education model where learning is experienced not just as faceless lectures, but one where staff and students feel part of a family and each individual is provided guidance, support and inspiration by leading practitioners. Since these early years AMPA has launched new campuses, developed innovative programs and expanded its course offerings into a diverse range of performing arts specialisations, but the core educational philosophy based on mentorship and specialised training remains as the fabric of AMPA’s learning model.
