The Position

As the face of AMPA your role will be pivotal in responding to student enquiries and providing personalised support from application through to enrolment. From providing information on courses, facilities, services and procedures through to booking auditions and enrolment meetings, your role will be an important part of each student’s application journey. By developing and nurturing these relationships, you will help to drive a culture of quality, student support and high rates of conversion to enrolment.

Helping with the daily activities at AMPA, you will provide a high level of reception and administrative support along with handling communication with students, staff and external parties such as educational institutions, arts related associations, private studios, agencies and media companies.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Provide course and general enrolment information to prospective students, parents and teachers.

  • Build and manage relationships with potential students, from handling initial enquiries through to final enrolment at AMPA.

  • Manage communication with the student/staff community and external parties such as educational institutions, music and arts related associations, private studios, agencies and media companies.

  • Provide reception and administrative support to ensure day-to-day activities at AMPA run smoothly and efficiently.

  • Manage external bookings of the theatre and ensure all event requirements are met.

  • Assist with AMPA events such as careers markets, information days, student socials, conferences and other related events.

Candidate Requirements

  • Tertiary qualification in marketing, communications and/or the arts.

  • A high level of communication and relationship management skills.

  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently or with a small team.

  • Highly organised and detail oriented.

  • Proficient in the use of software applications including CRM, Microsoft Word, Excel, Email and ability to learn new systems.

  • Positive and practical approach in dealing with students and staff.

  • Passionate about achieving results

The Position

AMPA has an exciting opportunity for passionate individuals to join the team as skilled Lighting Operators / Technicians to work in our theatre for AMPA events as well as public theatre hires. Lighting Operators should be passionate about live performance and have experience working with theatre lighting systems.

As a contract role you will be added to the callout roster for when events are booked in the theatre, and you can choose to work the gigs that align with your calendar throughout the year.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Operating lighting for all types of live performances 

  • Familiar with lighting desks and creating scenes

  • Lighting techniques for various types of performances and shows 

  • Able to conduct cleaning, maintenance and upkeep tasks of lighting equipment

  • Representing AMPA through liaison with Heads of Department, Production Managers, Artists, Promoters and our Clients

  • Troubleshooting and problem solving for lighting systems  

  • Maintaining a safe working environment by conforming to all established safety policies and procedures 

  • Taking responsibility of stage and production areas

  • Able to work evenings and weekends
